BEFORE TRAVELLING

CLIMATE & SEASONS

With its temperate tropical climate, Tanzania has two dry seasons and two rainy seasons. The best time to get there is the great dry season from May to October. Avoid heavy rainfall from March to May and high temperatures in January and February. The small rainy season in November and December can be pleasant and offer splendid colors, it is also less frequented by tourists.

LUGGAGE

With a tropical climate, we advise you to prefer clothes made of natural fibres (cotton, linen…) in rather sober colours to blend in with the savannah. Don’t forget: sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and mosquito repellent. We also recommend that you bring good, comfortable shoes and a warm blanket: the nights can be cool and damp.

HEALTH & VACCINES

Although not mandatory, vaccinations against yellow fever, DTP, hepatitis A and B, meningitis A and C and typhoid are strongly recommended. An antimalarial treatment, prescribed by your doctor, is also recommended.

VISA & PASSPORT

For most countries in the world, you will need a valid passport and a VISA to enter Tanzania (valid for 3 months). Please contact the Tanzanian embassy in your country for any questions.
